The REK represents the culmination of years of extensive testing and fine-tuning to deliver the most reliable operating system upgrade for your carbine.
Manufactured in Geissele’s state-of-the-art facility in North Wales, PA, the REBCG is a full-mass, full-auto rated M16/M4 bolt carrier group. The carrier is machined from mil-spec 8620 steel and features a properly torqued and staked, chrome-lined gas key. The cam pin, machined from H13 medical steel, is coated with Nanoweapon (Chrome-Nitride) for maximum corrosion and wear resistance. The extended upper rails on the carrier provide greater stability and dramatically increase feeding reliability. The carrier is also coated with Nanoweapon for added durability.
The Geissele Stressproof Bolt, made from Carpenter 158+, is cleaner and stronger than the typical material spec’d by the US Government. Geissele engineers collaborated with Carpenter Steel metallurgists in Reading, PA, to produce this special heat of material. The forged bolt manipulates the metal's grain structure, yielding a bolt capable of five times the life of a mil-spec bolt. Each bolt undergoes rigorous inspection, high pressure testing, magnetic particle inspection, and is coated with Nanoweapon.
Nanoweapon, a family of coatings similar to DSL (Durable Solid Lubricant) developed by Picatinny Arsenal (US ARMY ARDEC), is exclusively available from Geissele Automatics. Geissele engineers worked for over three years with the research and development company that collaborated with Picatinny to fine-tune the coating. Nanoweapon provides unparalleled corrosion, wear, and abrasion resistance. Applied at low temperatures, the coating does not affect the part's metallurgy and has a surface hardness equivalent to 82HRC. This hardness allows it to easily reject carbon and facilitate cleaning, enabling normal firearm operation with less lubrication.
