As an added benefit, the ring’s large surface area contacts more of the scope, maximizing and evenly distributing the clamping force across the holding surface. Each Premier scope ring is built to STANAG 4694 NATO specification, meaning the ring sits tight on the scope rail, with the clamps applying equal pressure along the underside of the angled rail surface to maintain a more solid interface. This design also allows the rings to be mounted on out-of-spec rails.
